Yep - I knew of the R2 version coming out. I just don't want to get into the whole region stuff with DVD players right now as I paid a good penny for the one I have a while ago and I don't want to replace it with a inexpensive unit.
If they some out in R1 then I'll be all over them, if not, then I'll just die a bitter and angry man. Although me dying better and angry will have nothing at all to do with never having had the chance to see that series on DVD release over here, but it would lessen one of them a little - but not sure if it would be the bitter or angry. Probably angry, but not the bitter.

The new Who stuff has been great so far... It's like they finally have the budgets to match the story concepts. Christopher Eccelsten was a GREAT Doctor. Very dark/sarcastic. This new guy strikes me as a bit young, but I'm curious to see what he brings to the role.
Totally worth checking out..

Hey everyone,
I know I'm PROBABLY the only Doctor Who fan on this board, but JUST in case...
The official BBC Website has been updated with a bunch of new photos of David Tennant as the latest actor to play the Doctor.
Click HERE to check 'em out.
Enjoy!

nope - there are a couple of other Dr. Who fans on here. Me being one of them.
I've known about this guy for a while. I have family in the UK and they are huge fans as well (it is so fun talking Dr. Who to my father in law who turns 70 this year).
I am hoping it gets sent to either BBCAmerica or to DVD soon so I can grab it.

Tom Baker-Doctor fan myself. I'd love to see more...if the new series ever gets picked up in America.
But until then, I have a nice collection of old Dapol figures to keep me company.

I loved the last season of Dr. Who! I don't understand why they are replacing Christopher Eccelsten? What's up with that? That web site doesn't say much about it.

Actually, the BBC really wanted Eccelsten to stick around for a lot longer than he did. He brought a great amount of talent to the show and it's unfortunate he won't be playing the Doctor for more than just this one season.
As I understand it, though, it's a pretty brutal shooting schedule. Extremely long and difficult hours, and it may have just taken its toll on him. I can definitely understand that, but man... I'm gonna miss him.
Still, the new Doc, David Tennant, looks promising!
